Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Diaz!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Franco throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Franco is in Diaz's guard.
Franco is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Diaz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Franco can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Franco passes into half guard.

Franco is looking for a kimura but Diaz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Franco to get the leverage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Franco is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Diaz is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Franco jumps into side control!

Franco takes a little break here. Diaz wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Franco tries for a kimura but Diaz is defending well.

Franco is trying to get an arm triangle but Diaz is defending well.

Franco is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Diaz is trying to escape and Franco transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Diaz is forced to tap! Nice work there by Franco! Very nice indeed!
