Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Hodges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nero Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nero Padilla has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jeff Hodges's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeff Hodges! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nero Padilla! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Padilla shoots in looking for a takedown. Hodges tries to sprawl out of it but Padilla keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hodges manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Padilla looks for a takedown but Hodges sprawls well. Padilla fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hodges avoids it really well and circles away. Hodges tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Padilla manages to circle out of the way. Jeff Hodges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nero Padilla. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Padilla with a lazy takedown attempt and Hodges counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Padilla manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Hodges could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hodges wants to take the fight to the mat but Padilla manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Padilla looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Padilla successfully pulls guard.
Padilla is looking for a triangle here but Hodges uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Hodges tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Padilla manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Padilla seems to be looking for submissions.

Padilla seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hodges wants to control but Padilla is keeping busy.

Hodges is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hodges keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Padilla looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hodges wants to control but Padilla is keeping busy.
Padilla decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Padilla looks to land a body kick but Hodges moved away. Hodges keeps Padilla at a distance using the push kick. Hodges throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Padilla goes for a double leg but Hodges avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hodges continues to drive forward. Padilla tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hodges defends well and Padilla ends up having to push Hodges into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Padilla looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Hodges tries to counter with a takedown but Padilla is quick to defend against it. Padilla shoots and misses and Hodges counters by moving into the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Padilla gets underhooks to prevent Hodges's takedown attempt.
Hodges tries to pull guard but Padilla forces him back to his feet, against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Nero Padilla will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Padilla pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Hodges dives in and grabs Padilla's left leg, looking for a takedown. Padilla pushes down on Hodges's head and hops out. Padilla instigates a clinch. Padilla is trying to force a seperation but Hodges has the dominant position. Hodges prevents Padilla from breaking the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Padilla jumps into guard, dragging Hodges to the mat.

Hodges drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Padilla manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hodges has Padilla in his guard. Padilla looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Hodges looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Padilla stays in close to Hodges's body and controls the position. Padilla wants to pass the guard but Hodges is keeping the position. Padilla throws a strike but Hodges rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Padilla wants to sweep here but Hodges controlling him for the moment. Hodges throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hodges stops Padilla from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Padilla bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hodges's guard. Padilla pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hodges is keeping the position for now. Padilla throwing strikes but missing. Padilla sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Padilla stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hodges swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hodges is trying to keep Padilla in close.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Jeff Hodges is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Padilla is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hodges sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nice takedown defense from Hodges. No joy for Padilla on that attempt. Hodges throws a counter high kick but Padilla was just alert enough to avoid it. Padilla tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nero Padilla showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

It looks like Jeff Hodges has been cut. Padilla swats away the attempt to clinch by Hodges. Padilla now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Padilla has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Padilla slaps away a takedown attempt from Hodges, before circling back to the center of the mat. Padilla clinches up with Hodges and pushes him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hodges is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Padilla is defending well. Hodges has Padilla pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Padilla manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Hodges. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hodges trying to control the position from guard on top but Padilla is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Padilla is looking for a triangle but Hodges pushes his legs off easily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Padilla throws the kick towards the body but Hodges avoids it. Padilla gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hodges jumps guard but Padilla turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Padilla wants to get back to striking at distance but Hodges won't allow it.
Padilla is looking to break free of the clinch but Hodges has double underhooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Padilla tries to pull guard but Hodges holds him up against the cage and eventually Padilla drops back down to his feet.

Hodges goes for a takedown in the clinch but Padilla prevents it.
Padilla has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hodges avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Padilla stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Padilla is trying to push Hodges away but Hodges has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Padilla is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hodges is defending well. Padilla gets control of Hodges's arms and successfully pulls guard. Padilla will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Padilla takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Padilla throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

And that's the end of the fight! Nero Padilla comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Padilla has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
