He only made it down to 172.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvario misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Abiot looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Alvario scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Alvario trying to control the pace. Alvario missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Alvario working the head and body with strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alvario has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Alvario working the ground and pound effectively.

It looks like Isiah Abiot has been cut. Alvario with good strikes from the mount here! Alvario can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Abiot is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alvario with a couple of short strikes. Abiot taking shots to the head. Alvario punishing his opponent with strikes.
Abiot is rocked! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Abiot can do anything to dispel that myth. Alvario is landing with some decent strikes but Abiot is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Abiot is still in real trouble! Can Alvario finish him? Alvario looking to control and managing it successfully. Alvario postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Abiot out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Alvario goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
