Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stan Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Dang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stan Patrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Dang! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dang looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Dang throws a head kick but Patrick moves out of range.
Patrick stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Patrick wants it to stay on the feet. Patrick is looking to clinch but Dang is avoiding it.
Dang bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Dang shoots in for a takedown but Patrick shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. It looked like Patrick wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Dang misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Patrick feinted with a counter takedown. Stan Patrick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Dang. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dang closes this distance looking for a takedown but Patrick circles away. Patrick appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Dang keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dang moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Stan Patrick has been cut. Dang has taken the fight to the clinch.
Patrick has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dang avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Patrick has Dang pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Patrick pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dang tumbling to the mat - Patrick dives into Dang's guard. Dang has a closed guard, preventing Patrick from standing up. Dang seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patrick prevents Dang from getting back to his feet. Patrick wants to stand but Dang has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dang bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Patrick's guard. Dang is standing up over Patrick. Patrick looks to escape but Dang dives into side control.
Patrick wants to get back to his feet but Dang drags him back down. Patrick tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dang wants to control the pace but Patrick is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patrick's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dang looking to control but Patrick is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Patrick is trying to escape the mount but Dang keeps good control and instead manages to take Patrick's back.
Patrick preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Dang. Patrick wants to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patrick is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Steven Dang dominated that round. The cut man is working on Stan Patrick's cut. That's time! Patrick's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dang is defended easily by Patrick. Dang shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Patrick but Patrick pushes him off and we're back to square one. Patrick appears to be looking for a big counter. Patrick stuffs the takedown. Stan Patrick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Dang. Dang swats away the attempt to clinch by Patrick. Good leg kick by Dang there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Dang closes the distance and clinches up with Patrick, looking for a takedown. Dang pushes Patrick against the cage but Patrick circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dang pushes Patrick up against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dang fails to pull guard.
Dang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dang delivers a nice body kick. Patrick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dang pinned against the cage. Dang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dang looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Patrick is fending him off so far but Dang persists. Nope, Patrick circles away and we're back to standing. Patrick half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Dang tries to close the distance and clinch but Patrick swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A counter left hand to the body from Patrick misses its target. Steven Dang seems to be getting the better of the standup. Dang shoots in for a double leg but Patrick sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Dang is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dang changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Patrick tries to avoid it but Dang manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Patrick to the ground. Patrick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Patrick changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Dang shoots for a double leg takedown but Patrick sprawls well. He's pushed Dang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Dang tries for a takedown but Patrick sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Patrick seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Patrick has managed to clinch.

Dang must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Patrick has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Patrick looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Dang takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dang is trying to pull guard but Patrick has him pressed against the cage. Dang tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Patrick smiles and moves away.
Patrick moves into the clinch. Patrick wants the takedown. Dang is fighting it off but Patrick persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dang's guard against the cage. Dang has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Patrick off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Patrick stuffs the takedown. Dang fails with a takedown attempt. It looked like Patrick was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Dang.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dang tries to clinch up. A quick step to the side and Patrick tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Dang shoots in looking for a takedown. Patrick tries to sprawl out of it but Dang keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Patrick manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Patrick is looking for a counter combo. Dang dives in for a single leg takedown but Patrick sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Patrick drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dang sprawls and moves away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Patrick fails with an attempt to clinch.
Patrick dives in and scores a takedown into Dang's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patrick trying to control the position from guard on top but Dang is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dang has a closed guard, preventing Patrick from standing up. Patrick not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Dang throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Steven Dang has got the better of the ground game so far. Patrick wanted to stand there but Dang had control of the position. Patrick engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Patrick fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dang avoids it really well and circles away. Patrick moves into the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dang jumps guard but Patrick turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Dang tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Patrick just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! Stan Patrick showed his dominance in that final round. I think Patrick has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
