Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Monty Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allan Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Allan Evans was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Monty Wallace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Allan Evans! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans misses with a head kick.
Evans blocks the body kick.
Wallace misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Wallace lands with a shot to the body. Wallace looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Evans trying to control here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Evans is concentrating on defense, preventing Wallace from advancing position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Evans has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wallace is working away from the top position though. Wallace controlling the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans is looking to improve his position.
Evans makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Evans. Wallace preventing the sweep. Evans tries to strike from the bottom.
Wallace knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Evans on the ground. Wallace postures up.
Evans lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Wallace looking to control.
Evans wants to pass the guard but Wallace is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Evans stays in close to Wallace's body and controls the position. Evans's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Evans throwing strikes but missing. Wallace wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Evans manages to pass to side control. Evans landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Evans looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Evans is looking to advance position but Wallace won't allow it. Wallace tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Evans has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Evans controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wallace is trying to escape the mount.
Evans controlling the position easily from mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wallace is bucking up trying to escape but Evans cracks him with another couple of good strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Allan Evans dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Wallace avoids a punch combination nicely.
Evans tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wallace doesn't manage to clinch there - Evans circles away.
Wallace shoots in but Evans avoids the takedown attempt easily. Evans changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. No joy there for Wallace, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Evans pulls Wallace into guard.
Evans has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Evans isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Wallace stacks Evans on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Wallace! Evans is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans is still trying to improve position. Evans is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Evans is looking to improve his position.
Wallace wants to stand up but Evans is controlling the position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Evans manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Evans is trying to control the position but Wallace postures up. Wallace trying to control the position from guard on top but Evans is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Evans controlling the position. Wallace has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Evans throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Evans doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Wallace has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Evans is proving hard to escape from. Evans lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Evans trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are working up against the cage. Wallace manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Evans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Evans gets caught napping as Wallace dives in and scores a takedown. Evans manages to retain guard. Wallace would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace controlling from the top position. Wallace stands up and waves to Evans to follow him. Wallace shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Evans as he jumps to the side. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Evans tries a head kick but it misses.
Wallace gets caught napping as Evans dives in and scores a takedown. Wallace manages to retain guard. Wallace manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Evans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Evans has Wallace up against the cage in a clinch.
Wallace swings wildly with an uppercut but Evans uses good head movement to avoid it. Wallace tries to break the clinch but Evans is controlling the position. Wallace landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Evans blocks a body shot from Wallace. Evans manages to break the clinch.
Wallace has his takedown stuffed and Evans decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wallace's guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Monty Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him. Evans passes into half guard. Evans thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wallace's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Allan Evans will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Wallace tries to score a power double leg takedown but Evans sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wallace somewhat. Wallace gets caught napping as Evans dives in and scores a takedown. Wallace manages to retain guard. Wallace is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Evans presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Wallace landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Evans pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans closes the distance and pushes Wallace back into the cage. Evans turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Evans manages to end up in side control. Evans takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wallace is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Evans goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wallace rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Evans's guard! Nice work there by Wallace! Evans working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Evans is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Wallace decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown but Evans manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wallace's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Evans rushes Wallace and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Wallace landing some nice looking knees to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Evans avoids the head kick by Wallace.
Evans pivots, looking for a leg kick but Wallace is out of range and Evans settles back down. Wallace showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Evans.
Evans shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Evans was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Wallace tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Evans wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Evans cracks Wallace with an elbow. That is naaassty. Evans controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Evans lands a decent elbow from side control. Wallace is looking to regain half guard here but Evans keeps moving and retains side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Evans wants to control but Wallace is keeping him busy. Evans wants to stand but Wallace has his arm trapped. Evans content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Monty Wallace. I think Evans has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
