Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spana fails to land the takedown.
Spana shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Laatta shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Spana works his way to full guard. Good work.
Laatta throws a big right hand that misses.

Spana is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Laatta wants to control from the top but Spana keeps moving.
Spana is looking for a triangle but Laatta pushes his legs off easily.

Laatta has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Spana is proving hard to escape from.
Spana escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Laatta gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Spana is breathing heavily.
Laatta wanted to stand there but Spana had control of the position.
Laatta working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Spana's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laatta wants to stand but Spana is controlling his posture from full guard.
Spana has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Laatta can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Laatta wants to get up but he can't break Spana's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Laatta tries to free his leg and advance position but Spana is retaining full guard.

Laatta tries to stand but Spana is controlling from the bottom.
Laatta gets to his feet - Spana follows without any prompting.
Laatta shoots and misses
and Spana counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Laatta!
Laatta tries to hold on but Spana postures up.
Spana quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Spana but it's paid off an Laatta is forced to tap! Nice work by Spana.
