Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fernando De Abreu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitri Nosula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dmitri Nosula has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Fernando De Abreu's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fernando De Abreu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmitri Nosula!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Abreu misses with a double jab

and Nosula counters with a takedown into side control.
Nosula looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Nosula is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt De Abreu will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Nosula working the ground and pound.
De Abreu is trying to improve his position.

Nosula wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by De Abreu, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

De Abreu is looking to get back to his feet here but Nosula is keeping cool and he's managed to take De Abreu's back.

Nosula is hanging on to De Abreu's back as he tries to escape.
Nosula slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
De Abreu is covering up but some of the strikes from Nosula are getting through and doing damage.

Nosula is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. De Abreu defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nosula is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Nosula is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Nosula keeps control of the position as De Abreu tries to break free.
De Abreu is breathing heavily.
Nosula has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of De Abreu's body.
Nosula gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Nosula is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Nosula gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Nosula gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Nosula apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Nosula has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

De Abreu wants to sweep but no luck.
Nosula passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Nosula scores with a couple of short elbows.
Nosula remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Let's hope that Nosula has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

De Abreu throws a body shot but no joy.
Nosula with the counter takedown but De Abreu avoids it easily.

so Nosula counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Nosula lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
De Abreu has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nosula is working away from the top position though.

Nosula lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Still in half guard, Nosula seems content to control.
Nosula working over De Abreu with some ground and pound. De Abreu looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Nosula perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nosula chips away with some ground and pound.
Nosula pushes down on De Abreu's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Nosula lands strikes from half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Nosula is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Nosula takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Nosula cracks De Abreu with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

De Abreu tries to reverse the position but Nosula maintains control.

That's time! De Abreu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


De Abreu shoots in but Nosula avoids the takedown attempt easily.

De Abreu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nosula gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nosula looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
De Abreu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nosula on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Nosula is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and De Abreu defends it well.

Nosula looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks De Abreu with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nosula in particular looking to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

De Abreu tries to clinch but Nosula moves away

and Nosula counters with a nice double leg into side control. De Abreu won't be happy with that.

Dmitri Nosula comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nosula has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Dmitri Nosula started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
