Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anthony Pope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Damian Santana!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope instigates a clinch.
Santana pushes Pope back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Pope tries to break free but Santana pushes him back against the cage.
Santana looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Santana jumps guard.
Santana manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pope manages to get himself to full guard.
Pope is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pope wants to stand but Santana is controlling the position.
Santana drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Santana seems to have locked his on tight now - Pope screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Santana, as he picks up the win!
