Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Nick Meier and Ivan Volchenko. Volchenko has chosen Roar of the Lion as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ivan Volchenko enters the cage!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Nick Meier! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Ivan Volchenko!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Meier closes the distance and clinches.
Volchenko tries to pull guard but Meier holds him up against the cage and eventually Volchenko drops back down to his feet.
Meier drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Volchenko gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Volchenko gets control of Meier's arms and successfully pulls guard. Volchenko will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Meier drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Volchenko dives on top into guard.

Meier tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Meier has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Meier thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Volchenko sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
