The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Del La Vega swings for the body but Williams moves out of range.
Williams ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Pancho Del La Vega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Del La Vega throws a body shot but no joy. Williams steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Del La Vega. Williams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Del La Vega throws out the jab. Williams thinks about the counter body kick. Williams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Williams showed some decent athleticism there. Williams controlling the action here. Del La Vega is refusing to be controlled, as Williams sits in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Del La Vega trying to control from the bottom.

Williams lands strikes from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Del La Vega with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Williams tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Williams is continuing to stall. Williams postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Del La Vega out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Williams goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
