Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Olympia Unchained and The Metaphysical Magician. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Olympia Unchained! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; The Metaphysical Magician! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Unchained drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Unchained (4) vs (0) Magician Unchained content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Magician struggling a bit here. Magician manages to work his way to half guard, despite Unchained's best efforts. Magician tries to get to full guard but Unchained has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Magician actively working from the bottom here. Unchained takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Magician wants to improve his position but Unchained is controlling well.

He's bucked Unchained off and has taken his back! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Unchained (7) vs (4) Magician Unchained looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Magician has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Unchained has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Unchained can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Unchained is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Unchained tries to free his leg and advance position but Magician is retaining full guard. Unchained slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Magician looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Unchained passes into half guard.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Unchained works his way back into a safe position though. Unchained sitting in guard here, content to control. Magician working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Unchained doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Unchained manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Score +3 for taking back: Unchained (15) vs (4) Magician Unchained is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Unchained is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Magician knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Magician for a finish. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Unchained just content to control the position. Unchained's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Unchained tries to move to mount but Magician blocks the move with his legs. Unchained is looking to take a break and control but Magician is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. A lull in the action here as Unchained stalls from top position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Unchained wants to lay and pray for a moment but Magician keeps working.
And that's the end of the fight! Unchained takes the fight on points by 18 to 4. Olympia Unchained spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. |
