Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Jason Voges and Lukas Rarek. Voges comes into the arena with awesome god blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Jason Voges! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Lukas Rarek! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Voges gets tackled into the cage by Rarek. Rarek maintains the clinch. Rarek pulls guard effortlessly. Voges tries to free his leg and advance position but Rarek is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rarek pulls Voges in to control the position. Voges trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Voges trying to control the position from guard on top but Rarek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rarek looking for a sweep. Not yet Rarek, not yet. Rarek pulls Voges in to control the position. Rarek keeping full guard, as Voges tries to pass. Voges drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rarek looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rarek looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rarek! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Voges (0) vs (4) Rarek We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rarek tries to move to mount but Voges blocks the move with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rarek slows the pace down. Rarek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Voges keeps working. Rarek goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Voges rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rarek's guard! Nice work there by Voges! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Voges (2) vs (4) Rarek Voges wants to pass the guard but Rarek is keeping the position. Voges stopping the sweep attempt from Rarek. Rarek manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Voges manages to get himself to full guard.
Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Voges (2) vs (6) Rarek Voges has his foot on Rarek's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rarek works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rarek sitting in guard, not really doing much. Rarek is pushing down on Voges's leg trying to pass to half guard. Voges is fighting to maintain full guard but Rarek has managed to sneak the leg through. Rarek is controlling the pace.
Voges looking for submissions off his back. Rarek looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Voges is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Rarek seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Voges is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Rarek has latched onto it... Big trouble! Rarek pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Voges is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Rarek!
