Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alton Newcastle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartek Pietrzak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alton Newcastle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
35 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartek Pietrzak! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pietrzak will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pietrzak scores with a spinning back kick! Pietrzak scores with a jab. Newcastle misses with a kick to the body.
Pietrzak throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Newcastle counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Pietrzak misses with a lunging right hand
and Newcastle counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pietrzak cracks Newcastle with a right hand to the side of the head. Newcastle blocks a jab. Pietrzak walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A combination from Pietrzak does no damage. Newcastle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pietrzak. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pietrzak stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pietrzak wants it to stay on the feet. Newcastle takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Pietrzak throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pietrzak connects with a solid leg kick. Pietrzak thows a leg kick but Newcastle checks it and Newcastle counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Newcastle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pietrzak is trying to control the position but Newcastle postures up. Newcastle works a leg free and moves into half guard. Pietrzak moves into full guard.
Pietrzak lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Newcastle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pietrzak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Newcastle has momentary wrist control but Pietrzak slips an elbow through the middle. Newcastle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pietrzak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pietrzak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Pietrzak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Newcastle is keeping the position for now. Newcastle tries to land a sweep but no joy. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pietrzak trying to control but Newcastle is working from the bottom. Pietrzak preventing the sweep. Pietrzak is pushing down on Newcastle's leg trying to pass to half guard. Newcastle is fighting to maintain full guard but Pietrzak has managed to sneak the leg through. Pietrzak not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pietrzak takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Pietrzak throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Newcastle is looking for a sweep. Pietrzak is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pietrzak thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pietrzak tries to pass the half guard into mount. Newcastle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Newcastle is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at 10th Planet:LOD(8 Elite 3 Double Elite), so we'll see if he gets out of it. Pietrzak lands strikes from half guard. Pietrzak prevents Newcastle from improving his position. Pietrzak throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Newcastle works his way to full guard. Good work. Pietrzak trying to control but Newcastle is working from the bottom. Pietrzak preventing the sweep. Newcastle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pietrzak defends it easily. Newcastle lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Newcastle won't allow Pietrzak to sweep him here. Pietrzak is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Pietrzak can't keep his opponent in guard - Newcastle advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pietrzak makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pietrzak. Newcastle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pietrzak manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Newcastle manages to get himself to full guard.
Newcastle bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pietrzak's guard. Newcastle stopping the sweep attempt from Pietrzak. Newcastle wants to control from the top but Pietrzak keeps moving. Newcastle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pietrzak swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pietrzak not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Newcastle forces his way into half guard. Pietrzak wants to improve his position but Newcastle is controlling well.
Newcastle is trying to control. Pietrzak wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Newcastle passes to side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Newcastle is working to tighten his grip on Pietrzak's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Pietrzak has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Newcastle is really squeezing tight and eventually Pietrzak passes out! Newcastle breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Alton Newcastle! A relieved looking Alton Newcastle thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
