Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Jose De Sucre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Panther! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Panther tries to clinch but De Sucre is having none of it. De Sucre throws a big counter combination but Panther scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Panther darts in looking for a takedown but De Sucre gets double underhooks and turns Panther into the cage. Panther tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but De Sucre defends well and Panther ends up having to push De Sucre into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. De Sucre half committed to a counter leg kick. De Sucre moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Antonio Jose De Sucre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Sucre throws a series of punches but Panther moves out of range. Panther misses with a hook. De Sucre ducked under it nicely. De Sucre thuds his right hand into Panther's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. De Sucre looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
De Sucre listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Panther shoots for a takedown but De Sucre saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Antonio Jose De Sucre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Panther. De Sucre throws a one two combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! De Sucre lands a really nice looking cross but Panther seems unphased.
Panther is rocked! De Sucre looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Panther closes this distance looking for a takedown but De Sucre circles away. Panther is still on wobbly legs! Can De Sucre finish him? De Sucre throws an uppercut from hell that sends Panther clean off his feet! He's out cold! De Sucre stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Antonio Jose De Sucre! After winning the bout, Antonio Jose De Sucre thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
