Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lenny Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Halloway!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halloway lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Summers circles away quickly and effectively.
Summers wants to clinch.

Halloway tries to keep at a distance but Summers has taken the fight into the clinch.
Summers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Halloway walks away with a smile on his face. Summers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Halloway looking to score a takedown here. Summers is defending well but Halloway drives through and ends up in Summers's guard.
Halloway content to stall in guard here.
Summers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Halloway wants to stand but Summers is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Halloway's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Summers keeping full guard, as Halloway tries to pass.
Halloway postures up and lands a big shot to Summers's brow.
Halloway sitting in guard here, content to control.

Halloway drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Summers dives on top into guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Summers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Halloway throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Halloway is on top in guard.

Halloway is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Halloway advances to half guard.
Halloway passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Summers!
Summers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Halloway on the ground.

Halloway landing strikes, looking to finish!

Halloway swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Summers is now in Halloway's guard. A big mistake from Halloway there, giving up the dominant position!
Halloway avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Summers postures up in Halloway's guard and throws a big left but Halloway blocks it.
Halloway controlling the position.
Summers throws a big right hand that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Halloway dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Halloway closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Halloway lands in his opponent's guard.
Halloway is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Halloway pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Summers is keeping the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Halloway forces his way into half guard.
Jeff Halloway has got the better of the ground game so far.

Summers has hold of Halloway's hands but Halloway slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Halloway looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Halloway's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Halloway moves nicely into side control.
A lull in the action here.
Halloway is continuing to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Summers is looking to clinch.

Halloway looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Halloway is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Halloway maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Summers could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Halloway has cracked it and Summers is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Halloway!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jeff Halloway!
