Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bobby Buckets! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mats Thoreson! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thoreson slips a jab from Buckets. Buckets stuns Thoreson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Buckets throws a jab when Thoreson was well out of range. Buckets takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Buckets throws a leg kick that misses. Buckets misses with a body shot.
Thoreson shoots in and gets a takedown into Buckets's guard. Thoreson wants to control from the top but Buckets keeps moving. Thoreson preventing the sweep. Buckets looking for a guillotine here but Thoreson defends easily.
Thoreson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thoreson stands and throws Buckets's legs to the side, diving into side control. Thoreson in side control, just content to control the action for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thoreson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Buckets is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Buckets is letting Thoreson control him for a moment. Thoreson trying to control the position but Buckets is working away. Thoreson controls the position. Thoreson wants to control but Buckets is keeping him busy. Buckets sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Thoreson prevents Buckets from improving his position. Buckets trying to hold on to Thoreson's head to control him but Thoreson postures up.

Buckets tries to get to full guard but Thoreson has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thoreson is pressing down on Buckets's thigh, looking to free his foot. Buckets is holding on for now. Thoreson moves nicely into side control. Buckets wants to control but Thoreson postures up. Thoreson is looking to take a break and control but Buckets is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Thoreson controlling from side mount. Buckets prevents Thoreson from improving position. Thoreson controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Thoreson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Buckets! Thoreson moves to the back. Thoreson is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Buckets manages to reverse the position and now he's in Thoreson's guard. Nice work there by Buckets.
Thoreson has momentary wrist control but Buckets slips an elbow through the middle. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Thoreson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Thoreson controlling the position. Buckets with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mats Thoreson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Buckets throws a looping overhand right but Thoreson ducks down to avoid it. Thoreson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Buckets quickly recovers to half guard. Buckets on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Buckets tries to get out of the position. Thoreson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Buckets is looking to improve his position.
Thoreson passes the guard and advances to mount! Mats Thoreson has got the better of the ground game so far. Buckets is squirming around, avoiding Thoreson's attempts to control the action. Thoreson controlling his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buckets is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thoreson wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Thoreson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Buckets is looking to escape. Buckets really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Buckets wants to hold on but Thoreson pushes him away. Buckets is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Thoreson has taken his back.
Thoreson controlling the position well here. Buckets rolled but Thoreson kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Thoreson controlling the positon. Thoreson has the hooks in. Buckets is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Buckets is trying to get back to his feet but Thoreson has full control of the position and if anything, Buckets has just worked his way into a worse spot. Thoreson is hanging on to Buckets's back as he tries to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thoreson struggling to keep hold of the position.
Thoreson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Buckets tries to escape but Thoreson has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Buckets staying busy and making it hard for Thoreson to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buckets is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Buckets defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Thoreson's arms. Thoreson trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Buckets doesn't escape. Thoreson keeps control of the position as Buckets tries to break free.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buckets is working hard here to advance position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mats Thoreson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Buckets misses with a hook. Thoreson ducked under it nicely. Thoreson is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Buckets loads up on a big right hand but Thoreson slips the punch. Buckets tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thoreson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Buckets misses with a straight left. Buckets throws the kick towards the body but Thoreson avoids it. Thoreson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Buckets gets back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buckets looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thoreson is one step ahead there. Thoreson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thoreson trying to control but Buckets is working from the bottom. Thoreson controlling from the top position. Buckets looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Buckets wants to stand up but Thoreson is controlling him. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Thoreson is pushing down on Buckets's leg trying to pass to half guard. Buckets is fighting to maintain full guard but Thoreson has managed to sneak the leg through. Bobby Buckets has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Thoreson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Buckets working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thoreson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thoreson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Thoreson stays in close to Buckets's body and controls the position. Buckets is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Thoreson is aware though and is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thoreson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Buckets swings for the body but Thoreson moves out of range.
Buckets feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Thoreson's calf. Thoreson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Buckets's waist but Buckets gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thoreson off to one side. Nice defenses there by Thoreson. Thoreson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. A chopping leg kick lands by Buckets. Thoreson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buckets as he avoids it easily. Thoreson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bobby Buckets has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mats Thoreson. Buckets lands with a straight right. Thoreson didn't see that one coming. Buckets jabbing away but nothing is landing. Buckets scores with a nice body kick.
Thoreson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Buckets misses with a leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buckets lunges at Thoreson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Thoreson's hand. Thoreson looking to score a takedown here. Buckets is defending well but Thoreson drives through and ends up in Buckets's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Thoreson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Thoreson wants to control from the top but Buckets keeps moving. Thoreson stops Buckets from standing up. Buckets is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Thoreson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Mats Thoreson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Thoreson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that's the end of the fight! Bobby Buckets showed his dominance in that final round. I think Thoreson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
