Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Colin McLauhglin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Nelson Van Alden!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Alden getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


It looks like Colin McLauhglin has been cut.
Van Alden fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McLauhglin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
McLauhglin takes a jab right on the kisser.
Van Alden throws a shot to the body.
Van Alden misses with a hook. McLauhglin ducked under it nicely.
A jab from Van Alden finds it's way through McLauhglin's defenses.
McLauhglin misses with a takedown attempt - Van Alden sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Van Alden scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Van Alden stuffs the takedown attempt from McLauhglin. McLauhglin gets slowly back to his feet.
Van Alden throws a nice looking combination but McLauhglin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

McLauhglin rushes Van Alden and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McLauhglin has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Van Alden regains guard immediately.
Van Alden is trying to keep McLauhglin in close.

McLauhglin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Van Alden swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Van Alden has control of McLauhglin's left arm, preventing McLauhglin from doing any damage.
McLauhglin wants to control from the top but Van Alden keeps moving.
Van Alden controls McLauhglin momentarily but McLauhglin frees himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Van Alden seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
McLauhglin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
McLauhglin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Van Alden's waist but Van Alden gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McLauhglin off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colin McLauhglin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McLauhglin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
McLauhglin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Van Alden sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McLauhglin somewhat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McLauhglin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Van Alden wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McLauhglin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

McLauhglin has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Van Alden.

McLauhglin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

McLauhglin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Van Alden is trying to get back to full guard.

McLauhglin is trying to work for a kimura but Van Alden is defending well.

McLauhglin is trying to control the action in half guard but Van Alden is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

McLauhglin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Van Alden is just riding it out for now. McLauhglin eventually gives up the hold.

McLauhglin seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
McLauhglin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Van Alden throws a good cross that connects.
Van Alden jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
McLauhglin shoots in looking for a takedown but Van Alden manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McLauhglin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Van Alden takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
McLauhglin shoots in looking for a takedown. Van Alden tries to sprawl out of it but McLauhglin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Van Alden manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nelson Van Alden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Van Alden lands a big head kick that sends McLauhglin tumbling to the mat! Van Alden takes a step backwards and waves McLauhglin back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Van Alden feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends McLauhglin sprawling to the canvas! McLauhglin rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Van Alden finish him?!


McLauhglin is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McLauhglin is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Van Alden doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! McLauhglin crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in McLauhglin's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nelson Van Alden!
