Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Rory McDonnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Test Fighter Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDonnell's entrance music is Bloc Party - Ares (Remix). A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rory McDonnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Test Fighter Fighter!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter tries to clinch but McDonnell moves out of range.
McDonnell moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
McDonnell lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
McDonnell thumps Fighter with a low kick.
McDonnell connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
McDonnell throws a front kick that sends Fighter stumbling back into the ropes.

Fighter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Fighter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rory McDonnell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fighter moves into range and clinches up with McDonnell.
Fighter prevents McDonnell from breaking the clinch.

Fighter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fighter misses with a right hand
and McDonnell counters with a leg kick.
McDonnell plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fighter misses with a combination
and McDonnell counters with an inside leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from McDonnell, right into the meat.

McDonnell lands a front kick.
Fighter throws a head kick but McDonnell moves out of range.
Fighter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fighter tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fighter misses the jab.
A slapping leg kick lands for McDonnell.
Fighter tries to clinch up
and McDonnell makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
McDonnell lands with a kick to the temple. Fighter shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Fighter misses with a few strikes there.
A nice leg kick lands there from McDonnell.
Fighter takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
McDonnell thuds his shin into the meat of Fighter's side.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fighter on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Fighter takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Fighter has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from McDonnell.
Fighter looks winded!
Fighter moves in looking to clinch but McDonnell pushes him off.
McDonnell lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Fighter moves to clinch but McDonnell breaks away
and McDonnell counters with a good low kick that Fighter was not able to check.
A nice inside leg kick there by McDonnell. That's going to slow Fighter down.
McDonnell throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
A chopping leg kick lands by McDonnell.
Fighter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McDonnell throws a head kick that Fighter semi-blocks.
McDonnell dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fighter. That did some damage!
McDonnell turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
McDonnell feints and then cracks Fighter's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Fighter down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rory McDonnell dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

McDonnell wants to get back to striking at distance but Fighter won't allow it.
McDonnell is trying to force a seperation but Fighter has the dominant position.

Fighter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fighter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McDonnell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McDonnell plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
McDonnell scores with a kick to the body.

Fighter drives through and clinches with McDonnell against the ropes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter manages to break the clinch.
A chopping leg kick lands by McDonnell.
McDonnell dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fighter. That did some damage!
McDonnell lands a nice looking kick to the body. Fighter takes a step back to recover.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McDonnell lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

McDonnell throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Fighter's head.
Fighter's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
McDonnell scores with a spinning back kick!
Fighter on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McDonnell. McDonnell obviously looking to wear him down.

Fighter clinches up against the ropes.

Fighter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fighter falls off balance throwing a combination
and McDonnell counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That kick from McDonnell tenderised Fighter's leg. Fighter is trying to keep his angry face on.
Rory McDonnell is winning the standup battle so far.
Fighter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McDonnell can pounce on him.
Fighter throws a lazy head kick
and McDonnell makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Fighter really felt that one!
A head kick from McDonnell lands but Fighter takes it in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fighter tries to clinch but McDonnell is having none of it.

McDonnell looks low and kicks high, catching Fighter right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it!
Fighter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but McDonnell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McDonnell lands with a slapping head kick.


Fighter is rocked!
McDonnell scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Fighter rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McDonnell counters with an outside leg kick.
Fighter takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Fighter stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McDonnell.
McDonnell lands a nice leg kick that just misses Fighter's sensitive parts.
Fighter takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Fighter tries to clinch up
and McDonnell counters with a head kick. That will keep Fighter thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McDonnell lands with a thumping leg kick.
Fighter misses with a double jab
and McDonnell counters with a low kick, right behind Fighter 's knee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rory McDonnell will take that round after scoring the only knockdown of the round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


McDonnell moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

McDonnell dodges the punch combination from Fighter.

Fighter moves into the clinch.
McDonnell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
McDonnell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Fighter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McDonnell keeps Fighter at a distance using the push kick.

and McDonnell makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Some bone on bone action there as McDonnell checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Fighter wants to clinch but McDonnell slips to the side
and McDonnell counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Fighter steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from McDonnell. That one must have hurt.
McDonnell lands with a slapping head kick.
McDonnell lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
McDonnell throws a head kick that Fighter semi-blocks.
Fighter throws a leg kick
and McDonnell counters with a solid body kick.
McDonnell throws a nice inside leg kick.
Rory McDonnell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
McDonnell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fighter can do to turn this around?

McDonnell looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

and McDonnell counters with a head kick. That will keep Fighter thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Fighter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McDonnell lands a head kick. Fighter smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Test Fighter Fighter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fighter throws a body kick that misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rory McDonnell showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for McDonnell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
