Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marius Gladius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Luther King Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Jr comes into a darkened arena with his song building. MLK tribute kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Marius Gladius has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Gladius or perhaps it was just good defense by King Jr, which made it look bad.
King Jr shoots for a takedown but Gladius saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
King Jr fails with a takedown attempt.
Gladius shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in King Jr's guard.
Gladius passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Gladius cracks King Jr with a big right hand but King Jr just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gladius has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gladius definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gladius is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so King Jr is just riding it out for now. Gladius eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

King Jr stuffs the takedown attempt from Gladius. Gladius gets slowly back to his feet.
King Jr tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gladius defends well and King Jr ends up having to push Gladius into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Nice takedown defense from King Jr. No joy for Gladius on that attempt.
King Jr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Gladius's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

King Jr wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gladius, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King Jr goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gladius rolls with the submission and now he's on top in King Jr's guard! Nice work there by Gladius!

King Jr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Marius Gladius overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
