PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Endon Sezzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borys Mankowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mankowski has chosen Kękę -Wyjebane as his entrance music. The key to victory for Endon Sezzer has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Endon Sezzer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Borys Mankowski!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mankowski closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Mankowski turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mankowski manages to end up in side control.
Sezzer bucks up and tries to throw Mankowski off but instead Mankowski has got his back!
Mankowski gets his hands free as Sezzer looks to control.
Our spies down at at Island Warriors inform us that Mankowski has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Mankowski keeps control of the position easily here as Sezzer tries to buck him off.
Sezzer rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sezzer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sezzer wants to control but Mankowski is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Still in half guard, Mankowski seems content to control.
It looks like Mankowski might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Sezzer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mankowski tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sezzer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Mankowski has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Mankowski is continuing to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borys Mankowski dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Sezzer rushes Mankowski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Mankowski has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sezzer is trying to keep an underhook but Mankowski manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Mankowski is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Sezzer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mankowski is working away from the top position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, if Mankowski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Mankowski quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Mankowski but it's paid off an Sezzer is forced to tap! Nice work by Mankowski.
