Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grant Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benton comes to the cage accompanied by I get Knocked Down. Freeman has chosen Old Firm Casuals - Better start running as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Benton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Nate Freeman! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benton has managed to clinch.
Benton lands with a short head shot on the inside. Freeman has had enough of the clinch but Benton keeps him there for the moment. Freeman has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Benton lands a right hand that snaps the head of Freeman backwards. Benton has Freeman pressed against the cage, preventing Freeman from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Benton lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Freeman is trying to break the clinch but Benton has him pressed against the cage. Benton stalling in the clinch.
Freeman wants to get back to striking at distance but Benton won't allow it.
I was talking to Benton's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Benton wants to take the fight to the mat but Freeman manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Benton is leaning against Freeman and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Benton works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Freeman is trying to break free. Benton presses Freeman against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A hook to the body from Benton.
Benton has Freeman pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Benton pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Freeman tumbling to the mat - Benton dives into Freeman's guard. Freeman is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Benton dives into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Benton stands up and we're back to a striking position. Benton scores with a hook to the body. Freeman takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Benton lands a body shot.
Benton has Freeman up against the cage in a clinch.
Benton lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Freeman backwards. A left hand lands to the body for Benton.
Benton lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Freeman or not. Freeman looks winded! Benton taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Freeman takes a shot to the head. Benton scores with a hook to the body. Benton stalling against the cage.
Benton lands with a short head shot on the inside. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Freeman working hard to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Benton is working Freeman over against the cage. Benton just leaning against Freeman, taking a breather. A quick uppercut on the inside from Benton. Freeman is looking to break free of the clinch but Benton has double underhooks. A short right from Benton. Benton lands with a left to the head. Benton has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Freeman clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Freeman is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Benton looking for the choke from the back. Benton has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Freeman's body.
Freeman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Benton looking for the choke from the back. Freeman is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Benton off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Benton controlling from the back. Benton patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Benton looking for the RNC. Freeman preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Benton. Freeman is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Benton working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Benton slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Freeman wants to escape the position.
Benton controlling from the back. Benton has managed to slip his arm under Freeman's chin. This could be all over... yep, Freeman is tapping out! Submission win for Benton.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Grant Benton! Grant Benton decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. Nate Freeman was interviewed post fight and said 'I'm glad the belt went to a fellow LOD member, unfortunately it wasn't me tonight. Sorry to disappoint my fans!'.
