Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Satoshi Masahira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnie Cash! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masahira doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cash moves into the clinch. Masahira wants a takedown.
Masahira drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cash pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Satoshi Masahira. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cash avoids the body shot from Masahira.
Cash moves into the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Cash creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Masahira wants to take the fight to the mat but Cash manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Cash lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Masahira backwards. Cash throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Masahiras head. Cash is pressed up against the cage. Masahira has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cash down to the mat. Cash avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Satoshi Masahira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cash throws a body punch but Masahira moves out of range. Cash connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Masahira throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Cash counters by clinching up. Masahira can't get the takedown.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cash is pressed up against the cage. Masahira has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cash down to the mat. Cash avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Masahira misses with a straight left. Cash misses with a straight right. Cash gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Masahira's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Masahira goes for a takedown in the clinch but Cash prevents it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Masahira goes for a takedown attempt but Cash pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Masahira misses with a looping left. Cash closes the distance and clinches. Cash cracks Masahira with a nice body shot. Masahira is breathing heavily. Cash taking a breather. Cash gets through Masahira's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Masahira drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Masahira wants a takedown but no success here.
Cash drops Masahira onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Masahira is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Masahira is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cash lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Masahira to his knees! Cash keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnie Cash!
