Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meyer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Meyer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Thomas tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Thomas takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Thomas is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Meyer.
Thomas is trying to stand back up. Meyer is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Meyer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Thomas covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Meyer scores with punches and elbows. Meyer has good solid back control here.

Meyer lands with a hammerfist to the side of Thomas's head. Meyer biding his time, controlling Thomas. Meyer scores with punches and elbows. Meyer is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Thomas has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Meyer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Meyer is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Thomas is defending well though. Meyer let's go of the attempt for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meyer lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Thomas.
Meyer just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Meyer is punishing Thomas with strikes - can he finish him?! Meyer throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Thomas breaks Meyer's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Meyer wants to stand up but Thomas is controlling him. Meyer has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Thomas off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thomas, pushing him back against the cage. Meyer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Thomas keeps control of Meyer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Thomas breaks from the clinch.
A combination from Thomas does no damage. Thomas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Meyer's waist but Meyer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thomas off to one side. Meyer has Thomas up against the cage in a clinch.
Thomas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Meyer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily. A countering left hand to the body from Thomas misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meyer checks a leg kick nicely. Meyer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Meyer wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Frank Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas fails with the takedown. Meyer feinted with a counter takedown. Wyatt Meyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Thomas. Thomas looks winded! Thomas misses with a two punch combination.
Thomas stalks Meyer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Meyer's face. Meyer staggers backwards, shaken. Meyer avoids the body shot from Thomas.

And Thomas tries to counter it with a takedown but Meyer pushes his down on his head and steps out. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Meyer moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wyatt Meyer dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Meyer as he jumps to the side. Meyer wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Thomas misses with a kick to the body.
Meyer forces Thomas back against the cage and clinches. Thomas misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Meyer.
Meyer gets underhooks to prevent Thomas's takedown attempt.
Meyer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Thomas pulls his leg out and moves away.
Meyer has Thomas up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thomas fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Wyatt Meyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Thomas. Meyer wants a takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyer has picked Thomas up - he's going for a ride! Meyer dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Thomas manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Meyer keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Meyer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Thomas can do to turn this around? Meyer misses with a knee strike.
Meyer is trying to break the clinch but Thomas is controlling him. A right handed body shot lands from Thomas.

Thomas putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Meyer in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Thomas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Thomas is breathing heavily. Meyer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Thomas is trying to defend but Meyer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Thomas manages to escape and get back to his feet!
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Meyer gets a double leg takedown into Thomas's guard. Thomas is pulling down on Meyer's head to control his posture. Meyer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Wyatt Meyer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Thomas is looking for a triangle but Meyer pushes his legs off easily.
Meyer stands up over Thomas, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Meyer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Meyer looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Thomas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meyer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyer working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Meyer sitting in guard here, content to control. Meyer is in close to Thomas's body, working some short punches and elbows. Meyer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Meyer stands up from Thomas's guard - Meyer perhaps looking for a knockout. Thomas throws a sloppy head kick and Meyer counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Thomas! Meyer cracks Thomas with a big right hand but Thomas just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Meyer stands up. Meyer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thomas napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meyer lands a few punches from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meyer stands up and beckons Thomas to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Meyer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Thomas is trying to defend but Meyer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Thomas has hold of Meyer's hands but Meyer slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Thomas tries to get to full guard but Meyer has control of the leg. Meyer decides to return to a standing position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Wyatt Meyer will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Meyer has closed the distance and engaged Thomas in a clinch.
Meyer has Thomas pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Meyer pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Thomas tumbling to the mat - Meyer dives into Thomas's guard. Meyer stands and steps away. Thomas gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meyer is defended easily by Thomas. Thomas tries to counter by closing the distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thomas closes the distance and clinches. Meyer stops a takedown attempt from Thomas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyer lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Meyer with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Thomas tries to get to full guard but Meyer has control of the leg. Thomas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Meyer stalling. Meyer passes the guard and advances to mount! Thomas sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Meyer controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meyer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Meyer takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Meyer throwing shots but Thomas is blocking nicely. Meyer is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Meyer prevents Thomas from improving his position. Thomas wants to control but Meyer is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Meyer thows a huge punch but Thomas dodges it nicely.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Thomas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Meyer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Meyer stands up from Thomas's guard - Meyer perhaps looking for a knockout. Meyer darts in and clinches Thomas up against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Meyer is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Thomas is defending well. Come on Meyer - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Frank Thomas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wyatt Meyer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Thomas lands a body punch in the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Wyatt Meyer showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Meyer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
