Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Noble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathias Morin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morin has chosen Bodies - Drowning Pool as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Noble! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mathias Morin! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Noble checks a leg kick. Morin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Noble tries to avoid it but Morin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Noble to the ground. Noble escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Morin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Morin connects with the punch. Noble could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Morin cracks Noble with a good jab.
It looks like James Noble has been cut. Noble gets tackled into the cage by Morin. Morin maintains the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
James Noble has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mathias Morin. Noble tries to circle away but Morin has him pinned against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Noble. Morin avoids a wild elbow strike from Noble. Morin is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Noble has Morin pushed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morin jumps guard but Noble stands there with Morin around his waist. Morin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Noble has clasped his hands together around Morin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Noble cracks Morin with an elbow. That is naaassty. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Noble fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Noble in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Morin seems a little lost for a moment, as Noble dominates the positioning. Morin on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Noble cracks Morin with a big elbow. Morin being controlled for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Noble decides to take the fight back to the feet. Noble is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Morin's half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Noble perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Morin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Noble controlling the action here. Noble's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Noble has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Noble prevents Morin from improving his position. Noble stalling. Noble takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Noble lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Morin is looking for a sweep. Noble is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Noble lands a nice short elbow. Noble perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Noble seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Morin for as long as he can get away with.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Morin tries for a takedown but Noble circles away easily and Noble holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A bit of stalling here from Morin.
Morin tries to circle away but Noble has him pinned against the cage. Noble breaks from the clinch.
Morin connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Noble's hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Noble dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Noble's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Noble shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Noble showed some decent athleticism there. Noble stalling. Morin wants to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Noble perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Noble is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Morin can do to turn this around?
That's one minute gone in the round. Morin is trying to maintain the position but Noble is very close to passing his half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Morin is looking to control Noble's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Morin avoid being mounted? Noble performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Morin. Noble was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Mathias Morin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Morin drives through and clinches with Noble against the cage.
Morin being controlled against the cage. Morin tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Noble has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Morin uses from the top position. Noble looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morin passes easily into side control. Nice work. Noble defending against the ground and pound. Noble dodges the ground and pound from Morin. You can see the frustration on Noble's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Noble manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Noble is positioning himself well to prevent Morin advancing to mount. Morin seems to be looking for submissions.

Morin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Noble does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Noble is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Morin is tapping! Great win for Noble!
