Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodrigo Akenzua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Antoni Vivaldi!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vivaldi has managed to clinch.

Vivaldi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Vivaldi instigates a clinch.

Akenzua ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Akenzua no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Akenzua is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Vivaldi gets to his feet - Akenzua follows without any prompting.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Akenzua tries for a takedown but Vivaldi manages to get underhooks.

Akenzua is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vivaldi to keep the fight standing.

Vivaldi jumps guard and drags Akenzua to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Akenzua won't allow Vivaldi to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vivaldi wants to hit a switch here but Akenzua passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Vivaldi there!
Vivaldi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akenzua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vivaldi gets back to half guard.

Vivaldi tries to get to full guard but Akenzua has control of the leg.
Vivaldi tries to kick Akenzua off but Akenzua keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Vivaldi manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Akenzua keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Akenzua pulls Vivaldi into guard.
Akenzua manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vivaldi manages to get himself to full guard.

Vivaldi tries to strike from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vivaldi wants to sweep here but Akenzua controlling him for the moment.
Vivaldi wants to get back to his feet but Akenzua is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Akenzua is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vivaldi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vivaldi has escaped and now he's on top!

Akenzua is breathing heavily.
Akenzua wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Vivaldi manages to pass to side control.
Akenzua is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Vivaldi postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Akenzua to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Akenzua takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Akenzua rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vivaldi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Despite the aggression on Vivaldi's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Vivaldi shoots in and drives through. Akenzua sprawls well.
Akenzua takes a kick to the side of the head.

Vivaldi drives through with a takedown into guard.

Vivaldi stands up from Akenzua's guard - Vivaldi perhaps looking for a knockout.
Antoni Vivaldi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vivaldi drives through with a takedown into Akenzua's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Akenzua is looking to stand back up but Vivaldi counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Akenzua.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!


Vivaldi seems to be working for a kimura but Akenzua defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Antoni Vivaldi dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Vivaldi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Vivaldi slows the pace down in half guard.
Akenzua moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vivaldi controlling from the top position.
Vivaldi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Akenzua doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Vivaldi is standing up over Akenzua. Akenzua looks to escape but Vivaldi dives into side control.
Akenzua is being controlled here.
Let's hope that Vivaldi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Vivaldi decides to stand back up. Vivaldi steps back and let's Akenzua get back to his feet.
Vivaldi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Akenzua tries to keep at a distance but Vivaldi has taken the fight into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Vivaldi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Vivaldi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Akenzua!
Akenzua regains half guard.
Vivaldi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Vivaldi is thwarting Akenzua's attempts to control the position.

Vivaldi decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Vivaldi darts in and clinches Akenzua up against the cage.

Vivaldi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Vivaldi plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Vivaldi gets underhooks to prevent Akenzua's takedown attempt.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Vivaldi manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Vivaldi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Vivaldi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


Akenzua is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vivaldi throws a nice inside leg kick.
Vivaldi plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Oh Akenzua is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vivaldi and Akenzua are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Vivaldi throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Akenzua into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Vivaldi knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Antoni Vivaldi!
