Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edward Kenway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masa Wasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wasa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Welcome To The Jungle kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 5 - 2 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Kenway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Masa Wasa!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenway blocks a head kick by Wasa.
Wasa dips to his left and cracks Kenway with an uppercut!
Wasa throws a hook to the side of Kenway's head but Kenway sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kenway throws a looping overhand right but Wasa ducks down to avoid it.
A punch combination from Wasa misses.
Wasa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Kenway scores with a sloppy right hand. Wasa should have avoided that one.
Kenway avoids the head kick by Wasa.
Kenway throws a low kick but it's checked well by Wasa.
Wasa is looking to clinch.
Kenway appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Kenway has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Wasa throws a nice looking combination but Kenway bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Both fighters circling a little - Kenway finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Wasa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kenway tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Kenway pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Wasa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kenway napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wasa fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Wasa is looking to take a break and control but Kenway is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wasa controls the position.

You can see the frustration on Kenway's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Wasa goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kenway has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wasa but great work by Kenway.

Kenway stands up.

It looked like Kenway wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kenway ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Wasa catches Kenway with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Wasa throws a looping overhand right but Kenway ducks down to avoid it.
Kenway throws a counter high kick but Wasa was just alert enough to avoid it.
Masa Wasa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wasa misses with a few strikes there.
Kenway keeps Wasa at a distance using the push kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wasa misses with an uppercut.
Wasa throws a lazy uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Kenway moves out of range of the strikes.
Wasa tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Edward Kenway will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kenway buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Wasa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kenway sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Nice straight punches there by Wasa. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Wasa.
Kenway takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Kenway tries to clinch up but Wasa circles away and keeps his distance.
Kenway throws a push kick but Wasa slaps the foot to one side.
Wasa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kenway manages to avoid it.
Nice defenses there by Kenway.
Wasa might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Kenway takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Wasa bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Kenway tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wasa was well out of range. Poor timing from Kenway.

Wasa's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Kenway uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kenway connects with a leg kick. Wasa looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kenway lands a brutal head kick. Wasa looks out on his feet and Kenway throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

During a confident post fight interview, Edward Kenway thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
