Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Cletus Kasady! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dylan Mills! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mills shoots in and gets a takedown into Kasady's guard. Mills wants to pass the guard but Kasady is keeping the position. Kasady wants to sweep here but Mills controlling him for the moment. Mills trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kasady is trying to control the position but Mills postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mills pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kasady is keeping the position for now. Kasady keeping moving, preventing Mills from controlling successfully. Mills won't allow Kasady to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mills makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kasady is trying to keep Mills in close.
Mills throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kasady works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mills avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mills postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kasady is pulling down on Mills's head to control his posture. Mills controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kasady avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mills is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mills stopping the sweep attempt from Kasady. Kasady keeping moving, preventing Mills from controlling successfully. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nice takedown defense from Kasady. No joy for Mills on that attempt. Mills is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kasady sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Dylan Mills seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mills misses with a leg kick and Kasady connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mills misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cletus Kasady has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dylan Mills. Kasady decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mills trying to control here.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mills manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Mills wants to hit a switch here but Kasady passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mills there! Kasady takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mills is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mills can't escape the position.
Mills is still trying to improve position. Kasady trying to control but Mills is having none of it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mills felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Kasady tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Mills is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kasady looking to control and managing it successfully. Mills is squirming around, avoiding Kasady's attempts to control the action. Kasady controlling the position easily from mount. Mills wants to hold on but Kasady pushes him away. Mills is looking to get to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mills sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Kasady wants to pass the guard but Mills is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cletus Kasady dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mills fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kasady avoids it really well and circles away. Kasady stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kasady wants it to stay on the feet. Mills tries a head kick but it misses.
Kasady doesn't manage to clinch there - Mills circles away.
Mills closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kasady tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mills is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kasady knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kasady prevents Mills from moving into mount. Mills tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mills has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mills is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kasady is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mills tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kasady's legs. Mills taking a break here but Kasady is having none of it and regains half guard. Kasady is trying to get back to full guard. Mills is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kasady trying to control from the bottom.
Kasady wants to improve his position but Mills is controlling well.
Mills is thwarting Kasady's attempts to control the position. Kasady keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Kasady is looking for a sweep. Mills is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mills is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Mills sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mills is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kasady to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kasady shrugs it off. Kasady can't escape the position.

Kasady wants to hold on but Mills pushes him away. Kasady is squirming around, avoiding Mills's attempts to control the action. Kasady is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mills throws a strike there. Kasady manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kasady is staying active underneath Mills, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mills working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Mills thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mills thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kasady's head. Mills frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kasady is desperately trying to improve his position but Mills has a good base and remains in mount. Kasady is working hard here to advance position. Mills punching from mount but Kasady doing a good job of avoiding damage. Mills looking to control but Kasady is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kasady takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dylan Mills showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Kasady's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. You can see the frustration on Kasady's face as Mills controls the position. Mills tries to move to mount but Kasady blocks the move with his legs. Mills is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kasady is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. An elbow from Mills crashes against the mat.
Kasady is looking for a sweep. Mills staying calm. Kasady tries to buck Mills off but Mills is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mills tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Kasady is looking to regain half guard here but Mills keeps moving and retains side control. Kasady managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Mills.

Kasady is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mills's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mills's back! Kasady has the hooks in. Mills is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Kasady tries to keep control of the position but Mills is staying busy. Mills trying to control the position but Kasady manages to sink in the hooks. Mills is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Kasady's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Mills breaks Kasady's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Dylan Mills comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Mills has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Dylan Mills! Dylan Mills tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
