Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carolus Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hansov Assid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carolus Rex! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hansov Assid! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rex shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rex tries to free his leg and advance position but Assid is retaining full guard. Rex is stalling in the full guard. Rex wants to control from the top but Assid keeps moving. Rex pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Assid is keeping the position for now. Rex controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rex passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rex working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Assid is not content to let Rex control the position. Rex thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rex creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Assid is looking for a sweep. Assid is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Rex swings around for an armbar but Assid sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rex's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Assid wants to control from the top but Rex keeps moving. Assid being controlled here momentarily. Assid trying to control but Rex is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rex working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Assid doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Assid manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Assid trying to control the position from guard on top but Rex is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Assid slips nicely into half guard. Rex is not content to let Assid control the position. Assid might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rex haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Rex gets back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rex has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Assid can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rex is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Rex is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Assid looking to pass the guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Assid being controlled here momentarily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rex throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Assid tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rex is in Assid's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carolus Rex dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rex shoots in and bounces Assid off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rex sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Assid's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rex is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've been informed that Assid has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Rex controlling the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rex thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Rex is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rex is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Assid is just riding it out for now. Rex eventually gives up the hold. Assid is defending against the submission attempts here by Rex.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rex is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Assid sees it coming and defends easily. Carolus Rex overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rex is looking to advance position but Assid won't allow it. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Rex shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rex wants to pass to mount but Assid is defending the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rex is looking to work some ground and pound but Assid has wrist control. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Assid wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Rex scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rex seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Assid for as long as he can get away with. Assid is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rex content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hansov Assid has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that's the end of the fight! Carolus Rex showed his dominance in that final round. Well Rex has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
