Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julian Preston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Panda Nakata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Preston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Panda Nakata! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakata tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Preston paws at him with a jab and circles away. Preston fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nakata sprawls well initially but Preston persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Nakata is defending against the submission attempts here by Preston.
Nakata blocking the ground and pound attempt from Preston. Nakata won't allow Preston to pass to mount. Preston works his foot free and advances to mount. Preston thowing shots but they're missing. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Preston cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Nakata wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Preston.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nakata trying desperately to get to his feet.
Preston can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nakata is looking to escape. Preston lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nakata hang on? The referee warns Nakata that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Preston throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nakata because Preston loaded up on that one. A nice elbow there by Preston. Nakata is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Preston goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Nakata is on top in guard.
Preston managing to control the position. Preston is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Preston is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Preston thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nakata's head. Preston looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Nakata makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Preston circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nakata throws a series of punches but Preston moves out of range. Nakata fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Preston darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Preston trying to mount his opponent but Nakata defends it. Preston could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Nakata trying to control from the bottom.
Nakata is trying to stand up here but Preston is controlling him well. Preston wants to free his trapped foot but Nakata is holding on for dear life with his legs. Preston is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Nakata misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Nakata really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Preston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nakata wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Preston swats away the attempt to clinch by Nakata. Preston fails with the takedown. Nakata tries to close the distance and clinch but Preston swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nakata throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A combination from Nakata does no damage. Nakata shoots in looking for a takedown. Preston tries to sprawl out of it but Nakata keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Preston manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Preston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Julian Preston dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Nakata throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Preston will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Preston has a takedown stuffed. Nakata tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A combination from Nakata does no damage. Preston looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Nakata! Preston is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nakata has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Preston wants to finish this one by submission but Nakata is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Preston. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Preston with shots to the head and body - Nakata looks very uncomfortable down there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Preston looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Nakata is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Preston prevents Nakata from getting the reversal. Julian Preston overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Preston throws an elbow from mount that misses. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Preston unloads with some shots from mount but Nakata bucks and avoids them well.
Preston throws some wild stikes that Nakata manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Preston raining down shots from the mount! Preston working for a guillotine from mount but Nakata is in no mood to give up. Nakata squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Preston has hold of Nakata's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nakata manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Preston is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Nakata is surviving well by controlling Preston's body position as best he can. Nakata really wants to buck Preston off and get back to his feet. Preston is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nakata can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Preston prevents Nakata from standing back up.
Nakata tries to get to full guard but Preston has control of the leg. Nakata is trying to stand up here but Preston is controlling him well. Nakata is in trouble now - Preston has advanced to mount! Preston has control of Nakata's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Nakata regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Nakata in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Julian Preston dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Nakata moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Preston misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Preston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Preston will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nakata tries to clinch up. Nakata throws a right and a left that both miss. Julian Preston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Preston changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nakata tries to avoid it but Preston manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nakata to the ground. Nakata escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julian Preston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Left hook, right uppercut from Nakata. Nakata's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Nakata duly obliges. Preston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nakata takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Nakata wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Preston scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nakata to see if he's OK. Nakata is trying to buck Preston off. Preston wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nakata, who protects the arm well. Sloppy strikes there by Preston. Preston looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Nakata avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Preston.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Preston throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Preston working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nakata wants to get back to his feet. Preston lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Preston keeps the fight on the outside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakata looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nakata tries to clinch there but Preston circles away.
Preston shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Preston postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Preston postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Preston trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Preston gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Nakata will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nakata looks to land a combination but Preston avoids it well. Preston keeps the fight on the outside. Nakata tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Preston paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nakata is looking to clinch. Preston shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Panda Nakata has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Preston prevents Nakata from getting back to his feet. Nakata is looking for a triangle but Preston pushes his legs off easily.
Preston drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Preston jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Preston slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Preston trying to control but Nakata is working from the bottom. Julian Preston is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Preston shoots in looking for a takedown. Nakata tries to sprawl out of it but Preston keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nakata manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that's the end of the fight! Julian Preston showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Preston, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
