Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ale Krauser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ale Krauser!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Castro enables Krauser to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Castro manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Castro looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krauser loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Krauser is pulling down on Castro's head to control his posture.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Castro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Castro throws a strike but Krauser rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's time! Castro's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Krauser throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Castro tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Krauser is in Castro's guard.

Krauser is looking to work some ground and pound but Castro has wrist control.
Castro pulls Krauser in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Krauser tries to score with a low kick but Castro moves his leg out of the way.

Krauser clinches.
Castro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Krauser is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Castro fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Castro is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Krauser gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Castro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Castro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ale Krauser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Krauser rushes Castro and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Castro lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Krauser bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Castro's guard.

Castro is working an open guard so Krauser takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Castro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Krauser paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Castro wants to control the position but Krauser says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Castro is trying to stand up here but Krauser is controlling him well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Krauser wants to pass to mount but Castro is defending the position.
Krauser throwing shots but Castro is blocking nicely.
Krauser prevents Castro from improving his position.
Krauser looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Castro with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ale Krauser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Krauser decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Castro, up you get!
Castro throws a head kick but Krauser moves out of range.

Krauser wants to free his trapped foot but Castro is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Castro wants to improve his position but Krauser is controlling well.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Krauser stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Krauser shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Castro napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Krauser stands up and beckons Castro to his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Krauser tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krauser has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Castro sneaks out the side door and pushes Krauser away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

A little feinted left hand from Castro on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Castro gets caught flat footed, as Krauser shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Castro has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Krauser off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Castro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Krauser paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Dan Castro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Krauser feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Castro is wriggling around but Krauser manages to pass to half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Castro wants to get back to his feet.
Krauser is taking a breather. Castro says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dan Castro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ale Krauser is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ale Krauser.
Well Krauser has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
