Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Archangel clinches up with Avila and pushes him back against the cage.
Avila really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Avila is struggling to control the position.
Avila is trying to break free.
Avila can't break the clinch.
The Archangel drags the fight down to the ground.
The Archangel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Avila postures up and lands a big shot to The Archangel's brow.
Avila wants to stand and escape but instead The Archangel has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Archangel passes Avila's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The Archangel is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The Archangel prevents Avila from standing back up.
Avila makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Avila.
The Archangel looking to sit in guard and control but Avila gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The Archangel has his feet on Avila's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The Archangel lands with a kick to the temple. Avila shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Avila is rocked!
It looks like Granville Avila has been cut.
The Archangel shoots in for a double leg but Avila sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Oh Avila is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The Archangel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The Archangel shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Avila is trying to defend but The Archangel finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Avila wants to control but The Archangel is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The Archangel is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Avila is hurt! He's hurt bad - The Archangel fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Avila from any more punishment! Congratulations to The Archangel! Great finish!

John The Archangel got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
