Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monroe Melton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Nowicki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Monroe Melton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tomasz Nowicki! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Melton. Melton fails with a takedown attempt. Nowicki drives through and clinches with Melton against the cage.
Melton misses with a punch to the body.
Nowicki manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Nowicki is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Melton is controlling him. Nowicki managing to control the position. Melton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nowicki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Nowicki seems keen to control Melton's posture. Melton wants to control from the top but Nowicki keeps moving. Nowicki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Nowicki is looking for a triangle but Melton pushes his legs off easily.
Nowicki wants to sweep here but Melton controlling him for the moment. Nowicki wants to get back to his feet but Melton is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Nowicki avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nowicki has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Melton throws a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A momentary lapse in concentration from Melton enables Nowicki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Melton manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Melton has his feet on Nowicki's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Nowicki shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nowicki was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Nowicki wants to stand but Melton has his arm trapped. Nowicki in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Nowicki is working Melton over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Melton is trying to get back to half guard. Melton is trying to control Nowicki's posture but Nowicki avoids it. Nowicki wants to stand but Melton has his arm trapped. Melton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Melton seems a little lost for a moment, as Nowicki dominates the positioning. Nowicki tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nowicki taking a breather here. Nowicki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Melton is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tomasz Nowicki dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Melton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nowicki.
Nowicki unleashes a big counter combination but Melton bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. The fight stays on the outside here - Nowicki looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Melton just misses with a punch to the body.
Nowicki tries to counter by closing the distance. Nowicki is looking to clinch but Melton is avoiding it.
Nowicki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Melton's guard. Nowicki controlling from the top position. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Nowicki's corner. There ya go! There ya go! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nowicki postures up.
Nowicki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melton trying to keep a closed guard but Nowicki is proving a slippery customer.
Melton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nowicki manages to get himself to full guard.
Nowicki seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Nowicki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Melton defends well. Nowicki is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Melton is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nowicki is pulling down on Melton's head to control his posture. Nowicki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Nowicki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Melton's guard. Nowicki is stalling in the full guard. Nowicki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Melton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nowicki lands a couple of decent looking shots. Nowicki controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Nowicki has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Melton looking for a sweep. Not yet Melton, not yet. Nowicki gets to his feet - Melton follows without any prompting. Melton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A countering left hand to the body from Nowicki misses. Melton tries to close the distance and clinch but Nowicki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nowicki forces Melton back against the cage and clinches. Melton working hard to break the clinch. Melton tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Nowicki jumps into guard, dragging Melton to the mat.
Nowicki is pulling down on Melton's head to control his posture. Melton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Nowicki wants to stand but Melton is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nowicki thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nowicki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Melton is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tomasz Nowicki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Melton gets tackled into the cage by Nowicki. Nowicki maintains the clinch. Nowicki pressing his opponent against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Nowicki continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. A frustrated look appears on Melton's face as he tries to break the clinch. Nowicki jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Melton walks away with a smile on his face. Nowicki gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Tomasz Nowicki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nowicki dodges the punch combination from Melton.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nowicki wants to clinch and Melton counters with a series of strikes. Nowicki will be more careful next time no doubt. Nowicki takes the fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melton letting Nowicki take a breather here. Melton ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Melton no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Melton being controlled here, momentarily. Melton is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Melton has a closed guard, preventing Nowicki from standing up. Melton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tomasz Nowicki has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nowicki is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Melton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nowicki is one step ahead there. Nowicki's corner is telling him to maintain position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Nowicki clinches with his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nowicki has Melton pushed against the cage. Nowicki pushes Melton back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Nowicki on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Nowicki turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Nowicki happy to just control the position for now. Nowicki tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Melton is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Nowicki's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nowicki works his way into side control. Melton is trying to control Nowicki's posture but Nowicki avoids it. Nowicki is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Melton will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Nowicki landing strikes. Monroe Melton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tomasz Nowicki is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
It looks like Monroe Melton has been cut. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
And that's the end of the fight! Tomasz Nowicki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Nowicki winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
