Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Smith's choice of entrance music: 10 Years - All White. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Johnny Smith was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Austin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Smith! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Austin is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Austin circles away and we're back to standing. Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Austin circles away. Rocky Austin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Smith. Smith blocks a head kick by Austin.
Austin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smith shoots in but no luck this time. Austin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smith. Austin lands a head kick. Smith smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Austin shoots in and bounces Smith off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Austin passes Smith's left leg - he's now in half guard. Austin tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith works his way to full guard. Good work. Austin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now. Austin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Smith is proving hard to escape from. Smith looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Smith is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Austin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Austin won't allow Smith to sweep him here. Austin wants to get up but he can't break Smith's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jab by Smith. Nice straight punches there by Smith. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Smith. Austin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smith's guard. Smith working a defensive guard but Austin passes into half guard.
Austin stands up from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Austin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Austin wants to get back to his feet.
Smith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Austin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Austin's back! Smith is landing with strikes. Austin can't take much more of this. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith throwing sloppy strikes. Smith throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Austin covering up well under a series of strikes from Smith. Smith has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Austin fending off the submission attempt from Smith. Austin is trying to stand back up. Austin trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Smith working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Smith working for a choke but Austin reverses nicely into Smith 's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Austin dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Austin scores with a one two! Smith had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Austin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat. Austin throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Austin was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard. Smith drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Smith seems to have locked his on tight now - Austin screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Smith, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Johnny Smith! After the fight, Johnny Smith was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. In defeat, Rocky Austin stepped up to the mic, saying 'This fight was a work.'.
