PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyron Crown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tyron Crown was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyron Crown!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams clinches with his opponent.
Crown is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Williams pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Crown is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Williams breaks the clinch.
Williams darts in looking for a takedown but Crown gets double underhooks and turns Williams into the cage.

Crown closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Williams is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Crown's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Crown's back!

Williams on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Williams tries to get out of the position.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Crown has eaten all the pies!

Crown lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Williams down.

Crown cracks Williams with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Crown looks up at the clock and then as Williams takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Crown smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Williams is trying to escape the position but Crown is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams is trying to work for a sweep but Crown has mounted him!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyron Crown dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looks like Tyron Crown has been cut.
Crown has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Williams shoots in looking for a takedown but Crown manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Williams's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Crown changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Crown manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Williams is looking to counter punch.
Williams darts in looking for a takedown but Crown gets double underhooks and turns Williams into the cage.
Crown shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Williams seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Mike Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyron Crown.

Crown shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Crown was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Crown cracks Williams with a big right hand but Williams just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Check out the look on Crown's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Crown looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Williams with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Crown lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Williams! More strikes land and this one is all over! Crown jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
