The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rage throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Halftard looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Rage swats away the attempt to clinch by Halftard.
Rage swings for the body but Halftard moves out of range.
Halftard swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rage fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Halftard manages to avoid it.
It seemed like Halftard was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Halftard looks to land a combination. Rage sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Halftard counters with a three punch combo that has Rage backing up. Rage nods at Halftard to acknowledge the strikes.

and Rage takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Halftard slips a straight right by Rage.
A nice side step and Halftard releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Rage tries to close the distance and clinch up but Halftard swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nice uppercut lands for Halftard. That snapped Rage's head back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Halftard lands a left and a right that send Rage crashing to the mat, dazed. Halftard thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Test Rage has been cut.

Rage is breathing heavily.
Rage gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Rage tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Halftard is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Rage buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Rage!! Rage is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Halftard throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gary Halftard!
