Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodrigo Akenzua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kiet Banchamek! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akenzua darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Banchamek looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Akenzua trying to control the action but Banchamek is working from the bottom. Akenzua trying to pass the guard but Banchamek defending well. Akenzua sitting and controlling from the half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akenzua is looking for a kimura here.
Akenzua seems to be working for a kimura but Banchamek defends the submission attempt. Akenzua seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Akenzua is trying to work for a kimura but Banchamek is defending well.
Well, if Akenzua is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Akenzua seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Banchamek for as long as he can get away with. Akenzua continues to stall. Akenzua is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Well, if Akenzua is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Banchamek really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akenzua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Akenzua looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Akenzua takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Akenzua is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Banchamek is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
