Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Garret (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jerome Turner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Garret! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garret dives in for a single leg takedown but Turner sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Turner gets a takedown into half guard. Turner throwing shots but Garret is blocking nicely. Turner trying to mount his opponent but Garret defends it. Turner is trying to work for a kimura but Garret is defending well.
Garret wants to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Turner throws a strike but Garret avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Garret trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Turner slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner slips nicely into half guard. Turner is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Turner wants to free his trapped foot but Garret is holding on for dear life with his legs. Garret is looking to control Turner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Garret avoid being mounted? Turner seems to be working for a kimura but Garret defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Turner not landing any meaningful shots this time. Garret is trying to maintain the position but Turner is very close to passing his half guard. Turner throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Turner is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Garret is defending against the submission attempts here by Turner.
Garret wants to control but Turner is keeping busy and won't allow it. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Turner thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Garret tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Turner wants to clinch up but Garret keeps it at a distance. Garret changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Jerome Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A low kick from Turner is predictable there enabling Garret to counter with a crisp jab. Horrible takedown attempt by Garret or perhaps it was just good defense by Turner, which made it look bad.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Turner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Turner is trying to land an Americana. God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Garret is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jerome Turner dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Turner closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Garret to the mat! Garret manages to get full guard. Turner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Turner throws a big right hand that misses. Turner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Garret can do to turn this around? Garret looking to control.
Turner wants to pass the guard but Garret is keeping the position. Turner has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Garret trying to keep a closed guard but Turner is proving a slippery customer.

Garret is breathing heavily. Turner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garret swivels though and keeps the full guard. Turner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Garret works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Turner postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Garret could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Turner has cracked it and Garret is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Turner!
