The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nargarito tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Vinapola scores with a hook to the body. Nargarito takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Nargarito darts in trying to clinch
and Vinapola counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nargarito blocks the body kick.
Nargarito is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Nargarito tries to clinch up but Vinapola circles away and keeps his distance.
Vinapola misses with an attempted mid kick.
Nargarito gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Vinapola counters with a straight right hand.
Vinapola connects with a looping right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vinapola scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Vinapola throws a hook to the side of Nargarito's head but Nargarito sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nargarito walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Nice straight punches there by Vinapola. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Vinapola.
It looks like Roman Nargarito has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nargarito shoots for a takedown but Vinapola saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nargarito shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vinapola as he jumps to the side.
It looked like Vinapola was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Nargarito.
Revelation Vinapola has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Nargarito.
Nargarito closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Nargarito looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Vinapola sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Nargarito's defenses. It connects perfectly with Nargarito's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
