Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lenny Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jett Cullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lenny Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jett Cullen!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cullen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Summers quickly recovers to half guard.
Cullen uses his free foot to push down on Summers's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Summers.

Cullen goes for an armbar but Summers turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Summers.
Summers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cullen throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Cullen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Summers.
Summers is looking to work some ground and pound but Cullen has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Summers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Summers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Cullen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Summers wants to control from the top but Cullen keeps moving.

Cullen manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Summers looking to slow down the pace here.
Summers's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Still in the clinch, Cullen scores with a nice short uppercut.


It looks like Lenny Summers has been cut.

Summers is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cullen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Summers to the mat. Summers regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Summers is looking to stand back up but Cullen counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Summers.

Cullen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Summers wants to get back to his feet.

Cullen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Cullen seems to be looking for submissions.

Cullen stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Cullen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Summers is looking to get back to his feet here but Cullen is keeping cool and he's managed to take Summers's back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cullen is looking for the choke from the back position but Summers is controlling his hands well.
Summers really is a fat lump.

Summers is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Summers is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cullen gets his way!

Summers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cullen on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Summers is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Cullen.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cullen feints and as Summers raises his hands in defense, Cullen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Cullen is continuing to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Summers moves in looking to clinch but Cullen pushes him off.

Cullen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jett Cullen has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cullen content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Cullen prevents Summers from standing back up.
Cullen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Cullen escapes and gets back to his feet.

Cullen has Summers up against the cage in a clinch.
Summers is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Cullen is keeping busy.
Cullen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Cullen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Cullen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Summers defends well.

Summers moves to clinch but Cullen breaks away
and Cullen counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Cullen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cullen stands up out of the half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jett Cullen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The strikes coming from Cullen are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Cullen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Summers has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cullen but great work by Summers.
You can see the frustration on Cullen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cullen wants to get back to his feet.

Summers misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Cullen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Summers working over Cullen with some ground and pound. Cullen looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Summers with a flurry of punches that miss.
Summers throws an elbow that misses. Cullen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Summers's guard. Nice move by Cullen!


Cullen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Summers trying to keep a closed guard but Cullen is proving a slippery customer.

Jett Cullen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cullen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
