The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

mBledos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wills to the ground. mBledos is now in Wills's guard.
mBledos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
mBledos content to stall in guard here.
Wills trying to keep a closed guard but mBledos is proving a slippery customer.

Wills looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Wills had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. mBledos defends it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
mBledos really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Wills's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wills has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, mBledos has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Wills will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wills shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has mBledos pinned against the cage. mBledos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

so mBledos counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

mBledos gets to his feet. Wills looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Joe Wills is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wills misses with a takedown attempt - mBledos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
It seemed like mBledos was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if mBledos can do anything to dispel that myth.

Joe Wills overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Wills stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wills swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and mBledos counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by mBledos.
mBledos is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Wills throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
mBledos controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Wills is working an open guard so mBledos takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wills tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. mBledos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wills throws a leg kick that misses.
Wills shoots in looking for a takedown. mBledos tries to sprawl out of it but Wills keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. mBledos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Wills. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Joe Wills seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

mBledos manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wills on his heels. He'll look to pass Wills's guard now, I'm sure.

Wills has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but mBledos is on him like a limpet, forcing Wills back against the cage.

mBledos has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wills is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for mBledos.
Wills prevents mBledos from escaping the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Wills sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but mBledos is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joe Wills.
I think Wills has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
