The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Singh Negi pinned against the cage. Singh Negi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Souza has managed to clinch.
Singh Negi lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Souza is trying to pull guard but Singh Negi turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Singh Negi misses with an elbow strike.
Singh Negi tries a knee to the head but Souza blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Souza gets control of Singh Negi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Souza will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Souza has his foot on Singh Negi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Singh Negi works his way back into a safe position though.

Singh Negi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Singh Negi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Singh Negi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Souza has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Singh Negi has managed to get both his arms back between Souza's legs - danger averted.

After the fight, David Souza was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
