Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunnar Steigelmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Jordan. Steigelmann connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Jordan ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Steigelmann has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Steigelmann takes a shot right to the bread basket. Steigelmann is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Gunnar Steigelmann has been cut. Jordan throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Steigelmann takes the fight into the clinch. A knee to the head by Steigelmann.

Steigelmann scores with a nice hook to the head. I was talking to Jordan's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Jordan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Steigelmann creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jordan's defenses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jordan takes an elbow to the temple.

With the fighters up against the cage, Steigelmann throws an elbow but misses. Steigelmann gets through Jordan's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Jordan dodges an elbow strike from Steigelmann.
Jordan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Steigelmann has closed the distance and engaged Jordan in a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Steigelmann prevents a body shot from Jordan. Jordan tries to throw a body punch but Steigelmann avoids it by throwing Jordan back against the cage. Steigelmann trying to land knees to the body.

Steigelmann crunches a lovely knee into Jordan's ribcage. Steigelmann working Jordan over with knees to the body. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Steigelmann pushes Jordan back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Steigelmann scores with an uppercut up the middle. Steigelmann lands with a left to the head. Steigelmann drops his opponent with a massive elbow! Jordan is holding on for dear life.
Jordan is rocked! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gunnar Steigelmann dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Jordan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Jordan takes a body punch but keeps moving. Oh Jordan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Steigelmann tries to land a body kick and Jordan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jordan seems to have got his legs back now. A knee to the head by Steigelmann.
Jordan is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Steigelmann is keeping busy. Steigelmann lands a right hand. Steigelmann utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Jordan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Steigelmann creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Jordan's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Jordan drops to his knees and Steigelmann pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gunnar Steigelmann! Gunnar Steigelmann is the new heavyweight champion!
