Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clinton Offley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mack Johnstown! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnstown misses with a kick to the body.
Offley drops down looking for a counter takedown but Johnstown sprawls and moves away. Johnstown clinches up against the cage. Johnstown lands with a left to the head.
It looks like Clinton Offley has been cut. Offley is trying to pull guard but Johnstown has him pressed against the cage. Offley tries to pull guard but Johnstown holds him up against the cage and eventually Offley drops back down to his feet.
With the fighters up against the cage, Johnstown throws an elbow but misses. Johnstown is fighting off a takedown attempt but Offley is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Johnstown to the mat. Johnstown regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Offley trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Offley looking to pass the guard. Johnstown can't keep his opponent in guard - Offley advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Johnstown is looking to reverse the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Offley working away. You can see the frustration on Johnstown's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Offley advances to mount. Johnstown is desperately trying to improve his position but Offley has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnstown has left one of his arms exposed and Offley doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Johnstown screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
