Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Pulse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Pulse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Potter!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pulse.
Pulse lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Potter circles away quickly and effectively.
Pulse really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Potter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pulse looking to stall.

Potter is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pulse can't fight it off and eventually Potter manages to take the fight to the floor. Pulse looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potter's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Potter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pulse swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Potter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Potter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Potter working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Potter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pulse swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Potter is looking to work some ground and pound but Pulse has wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pulse misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Potter.
Potter takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Pulse throws a nice looking combination but Potter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pulse gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Potter.
Pulse wants to break free but Potter has control.

Potter tightens his grip and picks Pulse up, before dumping him to the ground. Pulse manages to land in guard.

Potter works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Potter stalling.
Potter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pulse knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Potter thows a huge punch but Pulse dodges it nicely.

Potter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Potter wants to pass to mount but Pulse is defending the position.
Potter lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Potter passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pulse!
Potter looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pulse takes a swing at Potter's ribcage but misses.
Pulse lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pulse.

Ben Pulse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Potter.

Potter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pulse keeps working.

Potter seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Pulse is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
