The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shlemenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Funkhouser moves away.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Shlemenko working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Funkhouser wants to improve his position but Shlemenko is controlling well.
Funkhouser is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Million Dollar Performance Center, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

It looked like Funkhouser was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Shlemenko.

Shlemenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Shlemenko moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Funkhouser! Shlemenko continues to tee off on Funkhouser, landing with a left and a right! Shlemenko connects with a right hand that leaves Funkhouser sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Shlemenko!
