Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Calloway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leandro Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calloway comes to the cage accompanied by The Death Symphony. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Calloway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leandro Silva!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calloway throws a head kick that misses.
A little jabbing left from Silva on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Calloway scores with a decent looking hook.


It looks like Leandro Silva has been cut.
Calloway misses with a few strikes there.
Silva throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silva lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

and Calloway holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Calloway misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Calloway has been working on his balance at UHK, Inc., so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Silva.
Calloway lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Silva backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Calloway keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Silva's efforts to push away.

Calloway has Silva pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Calloway pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Silva tumbling to the mat - Calloway dives into Silva's guard.
Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Calloway controls the pace.

Calloway is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Calloway's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Calloway seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Silva is trying to break the clinch but Calloway is controlling him.

Silva wants to break free but Calloway has control.
Calloway makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Calloway goes for a takedown in the clinch but Silva prevents it.

Calloway not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Calloway has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Calloway.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Calloway thuds a left hand into Silva's body.
Silva throws a lazy right hand but Calloway sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Calloway throws a counter high kick but Silva was just alert enough to avoid it.

Calloway gets a clinch.
Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Calloway has double underhooks.
Silva is trying to push Calloway away but Calloway has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Calloway stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Calloway prevents Silva from breaking the clinch.

Calloway gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Calloway content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Calloway continues to hold on tight.
Calloway is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around?
Calloway lands strikes from half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Calloway in particular looking to stall.
Calloway will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Silva tries to get to full guard but Calloway has control of the leg.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Calloway connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Calloway is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silva tries to kick Calloway off but Calloway keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Calloway lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Calloway slips a straight right by Silva.
Calloway moves away from the strike by Silva.
Calloway fails to land with a series of punches.
Calloway shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Silva throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fighters circling - Silva throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Calloway steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Silva.
Calloway tries to counter with a takedown but Silva is quick to defend against it.

Silva walks into a left hand.
Calloway drops his hands momentarily and Silva takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Calloway bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Silva's head backwards.
Calloway shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Silva doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Calloway. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva throws a series of strikes that have Calloway backpedaling.

Silva lands a nice shot to the body.
Silva throws an overhand right that lands on Calloway's shoulder, as Calloway tries to avoid the shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Calloway.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Calloway, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
