Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bud Macintosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyon Okiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bud Macintosh is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
36 - 32 - 4, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bud Macintosh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
41 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyon Okiro! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Okiro tries to close the distance and clinch but Macintosh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Macintosh shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Okiro as he jumps to the side. Okiro wants to clinch. Okiro misses with a low kick.
Okiro misses with a body punch
and Macintosh counters with a three punch combo that has Okiro backing up. Okiro nods at Macintosh to acknowledge the strikes. Okiro tries to close the distance and clinch but Macintosh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Okiro throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Okiro fails in his attempt to clinch. Okiro lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Okiro cracks Macintosh with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
That's one minute gone in the round. Macintosh slips a jab and a cross from Okiro.
Okiro connects with a body shot. Okiro bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Macintosh's head. Okiro throws a nice looking combination but Macintosh bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. An attempted straight right counter from Macintosh misses the target. Macintosh keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Okiro cracks Macintosh with a right hand to the side of the head. Okiro stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Okiro wants it to stay on the feet. Okiro misses with a body shot.
Macintosh drops down looking for a counter takedown but Okiro sprawls and moves away. Okiro bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Okiro misses with a straight left. Okiro fails with an attempt to clinch.
Okiro misses with a body kick. Okiro has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Okiro throws a right hand that Macintosh ducks under and follows up with a left that Macintosh also avoids with ease. Macintosh half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Okiro falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Macintosh counter with a right hand. This has been an exciting period of action! Okiro tries to close the distance and clinch but Macintosh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Macintosh appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Macintosh shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Okiro pinned against the cage. Okiro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bud Macintosh. That's going to take a lot out of him. Okiro throws a shot from downtown. Macintosh moves away and avoids it. Okiro darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Okiro lands with an uppercut that bounces Macintosh off the cage and back into range. Lyon Okiro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Okiro instigates a clinch. Macintosh escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Okiro tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Macintosh counters with a takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Macintosh misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Macintosh wants to control but Okiro is keeping him busy. Okiro stops Macintosh from passing to mount. Macintosh goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Okiro has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Macintosh but great work by Okiro. Macintosh gets back to half guard. Okiro controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Macintosh trying to get back to full guard but Okiro takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Macintosh is trying to escape the mount.
Okiro manages to capitalize on a mistake by Macintosh to take his back! My spies in The Warehouse inform me that Okiro has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Okiro controlling from the back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lyon Okiro dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Okiro swings for the body but Macintosh moves out of range.
It looked like Macintosh wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Macintosh checks a leg kick nicely. A telegraphed right hand from Okiro misses the target. Okiro misses with a combination
enabling Macintosh to counter with a crisp jab. Okiro falls off balance throwing a combination
and Macintosh decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Okiro's guard. Macintosh passes Okiro's left leg - he's now in half guard. Macintosh trying to pass the guard but Okiro defending well. We've been hearing good reports from Macintosh's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Macintosh seems to be working for a kimura but Okiro defends the submission attempt. Macintosh is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Okiro blocking the ground and pound attempt from Macintosh. Macintosh not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Macintosh thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Macintosh missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Macintosh looking for a submission but Okiro manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Macintosh's corner is telling him to maintain position. Macintosh wants to control from the top but Okiro keeps moving. Macintosh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Okiro swivels though and keeps the full guard. Okiro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Macintosh manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Macintosh looking for a sweep. Not yet Macintosh, not yet. Okiro's corner is telling him to maintain position. Okiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Macintosh swivels though and keeps the full guard. Macintosh looking for a sweep. Not yet Macintosh, not yet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Bud Macintosh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Macintosh working for a triangle but Okiro defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Okiro stays in close to Macintosh's body and controls the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Okiro wants to clinch but Macintosh slips to the side and Macintosh counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Okiro is trying to get back to full guard. Macintosh is controlling the pace.

Okiro throws a hook to the side of Macintosh's head but Macintosh sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. It looked like Macintosh was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Okiro dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Macintosh slips a straight right by Okiro. Okiro throws a right and a left that Macintosh avoids nicely. Macintosh attempts a counter takedown but Okiro avoids it well and moves away. Okiro misses with a looping right. Okiro throws a body punch but Macintosh moves out of range.

Okiro wants to clinch but Macintosh slips to the side and Macintosh counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Macintosh. Okiro keeping full guard, as Macintosh tries to pass. Macintosh advances to half guard. Macintosh is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Okiro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Macintosh. Okiro is staying active underneath Macintosh, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Macintosh is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Okiro pushes Macintosh off looking to stand but Macintosh dives back in and keeps control.

Macintosh frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Macintosh controlling the pace for now. Okiro tries to reverse the position but Macintosh maintains control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Macintosh fails to take his opponent's back. Macintosh trying to control but Okiro is having none of it. Macintosh is landing with some decent strikes but Okiro is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Macintosh can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Okiro is looking to escape. Okiro is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Macintosh swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Okiro is now in Macintosh's guard. A big mistake from Macintosh there, giving up the dominant position! Macintosh tries to land a sweep but no joy. Macintosh working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Okiro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Okiro manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Macintosh is pulling down on Okiro's head. It's preventing any offense from Okiro, at least for the moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Macintosh throws his legs up looking for a submission but Okiro uses it to pass to side control.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bud Macintosh. I think Macintosh has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
