Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kotetsu Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miues Rafki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kotetsu Yamamoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Miues Rafki! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rafki looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Rafki shoots in for a takedown but Yamamoto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Rafki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yamamoto's waist but Yamamoto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rafki off to one side. Kotetsu Yamamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miues Rafki. A jab from Yamamoto finds it's way through Rafki's defenses. Excellent takedown into side control there by Rafki. Yamamoto pushes Rafki away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rafki gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Yamamoto's coaches at Rings Russia have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Yamamoto manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rafki seems to be looking for submissions.
Rafki stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Rafki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yamamoto avoids it really well and circles away. Yamamoto leaves Rafki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Horrible takedown attempt by Rafki or perhaps it was just good defense by Yamamoto, which made it look bad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rafki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yamamoto swivels and escapes. Nope, Yamamoto circles away and we're back to standing. It looked like Yamamoto wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Rafki tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yamamoto defends well and Rafki ends up having to push Yamamoto into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Yamamoto comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Horrible takedown attempt by Rafki or perhaps it was just good defense by Yamamoto, which made it look bad. Rafki looks winded! Rafki shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Yamamoto pushes Rafki off and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rafki misses with a takedown attempt and Yamamoto moves into the clinch. Yamamoto lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rafki backwards. Rafki blocks a body shot from Yamamoto. Yamamoto throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rafki sees it coming and avoids it easily. Rafki shoots in for a takedown but Yamamoto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A left lands for Yamamoto. Nice takedown defense from Yamamoto. No joy for Rafki on that attempt. Rafki doesn't succeed with the takedown and Yamamoto counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Yamamoto loads up on a big right hand but Rafki slips the punch. Yamamoto throws a hook to the side of Rafki's head but Rafki sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rafki looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Yamamoto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rafki moves away. Rafki fails with a takedown attempt. Yamamoto throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Yamamoto throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miues Rafki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rafki is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yamamoto sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rafki shoots in and drives through. Yamamoto sprawls well. Yamamoto works Rafki's body with a nice hook. He's pushed Rafki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Yamamoto swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Rafki fails with a takedown attempt. Yamamoto lands a right hook to the body.
Yamamoto slaps away a takedown attempt from Rafki, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rafki has his takedown stuffed and Yamamoto counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rafki thinking. Yamamoto slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Yamamoto scores with a nice right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yamamoto has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Yamamoto goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Yamamoto lands a big right hand that drops Rafki! The killer instinct kicks in and Yamamoto finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Yamamoto!
