Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kris Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cassius Swank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kris Angel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cassius Swank!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swank tries to close the distance and clinch but Angel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Angel looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Angel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Swank looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Swank bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Swank decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Swank throws a push kick but Angel slaps the foot to one side.
Swank lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A slapping body kick lands there for Swank.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Swank misses with a straight left.
Swank shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Angel as he jumps to the side.

Swank closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Swank lands in his opponent's guard.

Swank stands up from Angel's guard - Swank perhaps looking for a knockout.

Swank shoots in and bounces Angel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Angel will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Swank stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Swank tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Angel paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Swank scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Swank looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Angel tries to buck Swank off but Swank is having none of it.
Angel tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Swank just content to control the position.

Swank is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Angel knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Swank stands up and beckons Angel to his feet.
Angel scores with a nice strike.

Swank drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Angel lands a little strike from the bottom.
Angel throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Angel is looking for a sweep.
Angel looking for a sweep but Swank has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Angel is looking to improve his position but Swank isn't that keen on the idea.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Angel shoots for a takedown but Swank saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Swank is looking to clinch but Angel is avoiding it.
Swank tries to clinch but Angel moves out of range.
Angel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Swank tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Angel swivels and escapes.
Swank fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Angel looks to land a combination. Swank sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Swank shoots in for a double leg but Angel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kris Angel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cassius Swank.

Swank thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Swank is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Swank is looking to stand up but Angel won't let him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Swank clinches up against the cage.
Swank is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Swank tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Angel just stands there and leans against the cage.

Swank breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Swank tries to clinch but Angel is having none of it.
Cassius Swank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Angel paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Angel lands with a straight right. Swank didn't see that one coming.

Swank shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Angel tries to reverse the position but Swank maintains control.

Angel is working hard here to advance position.

Swank has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Angel's face.

Swank blocks Angel's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Angel swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Angel is trying desperately to improve position.
Swank sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Angel is in all sorts of trouble here.
Swank tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cassius Swank showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Angel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Swank.
Swank will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Swank shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Angel pinned against the cage. Angel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice takedown defense from Angel. No joy for Swank on that attempt.
Kris Angel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cassius Swank.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Angel throws a right and a left that Swank avoids nicely.

Swank takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Swank's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Angel defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Swank.
Angel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Swank is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Angel can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Angel looks very frustrated and is flailing away with strikes from the bottom. His corner are telling him to stay calm.

Swank lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Angel is trying to reverse the position but instead Swank has taken his back - oops!
Swank is hanging on to Angel's back as he tries to escape.
Swank is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Swank gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Swank gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Swank apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Swank tries to land a front kick but Angel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Swank swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Angel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Swank instigates a clinch.
Swank's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Swank keeps control of Angel as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Swank successfully pulls guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Angel thows a big elbow that misses.
Angel distracts Swank with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Angel throwing strikes but missing.
Swank has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Swank looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Swank holds on and takes a little breather.
Swank looking to hit a scissor sweep but Angel is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Swank is adopting a defensive guard.

Cassius Swank comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Swank has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
