PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sid Lagove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rosco Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lagove's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, little less conversation -Elvis JXL. Sid Lagove is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenkins shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lagove's guard.

Jenkins thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jenkins wants to pass the guard but Lagove is keeping the position.
Lagove looking for a sweep. Not yet Lagove, not yet.
Lagove controls Jenkins momentarily but Jenkins frees himself.
Jenkins slips nicely into half guard.
Lagove wants to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jenkins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jenkins wants to free his trapped foot but Lagove is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lagove pushes Jenkins off looking to stand but Jenkins dives back in and keeps control.

Lagove is trying to maintain the position but Jenkins is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lagove has one foot on Jenkins's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Lagove moves in looking to clinch but Jenkins pushes him off.

and Jenkins counters with a single leg into guard. Lagove didn't expect that.
Jenkins stands and throws Lagove's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lagove is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jenkins has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Jenkins is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lagove knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lagove pushes Jenkins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jenkins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jenkins is trying to get an arm triangle but Lagove is defending well.

Jenkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jenkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lagove is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jenkins is controlling him well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lagove manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jenkins trying to pass the guard but Lagove defending well.
Jenkins is trying to control the action in half guard but Lagove is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Lagove won't allow Jenkins to pass to mount.
Lagove is trying to stand up here but Jenkins is controlling him well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lagove clinches but Jenkins breaks the clinch

and Jenkins decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lagove's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lagove wants to stand and escape but Jenkins is having none of it.

Lagove misses with a takedown

Lagove is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jenkins asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jenkins drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jenkins works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jenkins wants to pass to mount but Lagove is defending the position.
Lagove pushes Jenkins off looking to stand but Jenkins dives back in and keeps control.
Lagove wants to control but Jenkins is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jenkins works his way into full mount!
Lagove is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jenkins is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lagove can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jenkins is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lagove has managed to escape the submission attempt.
